How much do hair treatments cost in Australia?

The range

Lower quartile

Midpoint
$165

half are either side

Upper quartile
$349

a quarter are dearer

Half of the published prices sit between $58 and $349, with a midpoint of $165. That is drawn from 1,515 Australian businesses that publish this pricing, as collected on 25 September 2026.

Why the range is so wide

Two different things share this category. An in-salon conditioning or bond-building treatment added to another appointment is one of the cheaper lines in the catalogue; keratin and permanent smoothing are standalone appointments taking hours, and they are what stretches the top of the range. Length surcharges are common on both.

By city

Largest sample first, and each city has its own page. A city appears only where at least 25 businesses publish this pricing, because below that a single expensive salon moves the whole row.

What these numbers are, and are not

Every figure is computed from businesses’ own published service menus — 4,586 priced lines from 1,515 businesses, collected on 25 September 2026. None of it is typed in by hand.

A published price is not a quote. What you are charged depends on your hair, your skin and how long the appointment actually takes, and many businesses quote on consultation rather than publishing at all — 1,515 businesses in our catalogue offer this service, and 1,515 of them publish a price for it. The ones that publish are not a random sample of the ones that do not.
